Since its launch in 2007, Australian fashion brand Finders Keepers has always been at the forefront when it comes to on trend designs. Their diversion collections feature everything from pants to playsuits, and the label has captured the imagination of celebrity fans such as Jessica Alba and Iggy Azalea. Known for its bold but playful creations, the label launches eleven collections a year including dresses, pants, skirts and summer fashions featuring a mix of stripes, block colors, checks, animal prints and floral designs.
Here, we’ve picked out some of the hottest fashions for the current season and highlighted key items from the Finders Keepers (shop Finders Keepers latest looks here) range that incorporates those trends. You’ll also find makeup suggestions to complete your look.
PRINTS
Catwalk fashions indicate that stripes, patterns and animal prints are expected to continue to dominate the fashion world. Specifically, leopard print designs are predicted to be a favorite throughout the winter season, but abstract prints, stripes and checks are all set to continue to be fashionable – and the bolder the better.
To incorporate this look into your winter wardrobe, consider abstract print skirts, leopard print trousers or checked skirts.
Make up: If you are wearing prints, you’ll want to tone down the makeup. Choose neutral colours that look natural such as brown tones, and maybe add some eyeliner for emphasis.
KNIT DRESSES
Another trend that has proved popular in recent years is the knit dress, and winter 2015 looks set to be no exception; knit dresses are ideally suited for the colder weather, while still allowing the wearer to maintain a stylish look. Knit dresses come in a range of different styles and colors; if you want to incorporate the latest fashion trends, then opt for one of striped patterns.
Make up: matching your makeup to your dress has become fashionable again thanks to celebrities like Rihanna so match the shade where you can, but make sure it complements your natural colouring.
FLORAL PRINTS
Floral prints rarely seem to go out of fashion, even in the winter or fall, and this season is no different. Whether they are worn as a skirt, dress, coat or as trousers, prints are still very much in at the moment. For the colder months, opt for muscle tees or tees for layering, track pants for comfortable winter wear, or try some of the crotch drop pants for a fresh look that will still be on trend in the summer.
Make up: Again, neutrals and pastels will work well here. If it’s a night-time look, go for a darker eye colors such as gray or brown.
THE LITTLE BLACK DRESS
The little black dress is never likely to go out of fashion, and there is a style for every mood and to match every personality. Many people opt for this look when they are looking for a more sophisticated image, but these days little black dresses often have a fun and flirty spirit in mind.
Looser fitting styles that don’t cling too much to the body are being favoured by many a celebrity and model, and Finders Keepers have their own version of the little black dress that is ideal for the Christmas party season.
Make up: As black is a neutral colour, you have a lot of makeup choices, but smoky eyes always work well. Try a red lipstick for maximum attention, or a delicate pink for a subtler shade.
GYM WEAR
Gym wear isn’t just limited to the gym these days, and it’s now getting increasingly common to wear sports clothing as everyday fashion; with so many high end fashion brands releasing their own collections, gym wear is becoming increasingly stylish. If opting for this look, choose track pants with chic designs, and go for a slightly more tailored look if you want to avoid looking too casual.
Close fittings tees and tank tops are also ideal if you want to adopt this style.
Makeup: For casual wear, you’ll want to tone the makeup down a bit to fit in with the overall look. Choose colors that suit your natural colouring, or just emphasize your favorite features.
NEUTRAL COLOURS
If the more eye catching styles aren’t suited to your personal style, then you’ll be pleased to know that neutral block colors are also in fashion this winter. When it comes to shades whites, cream, reds and pastels are among those on trend.
Make up: Again, begin by matching your makeup with your outfit where you can; if you are wearing white, go for pastel or neutral eye colors, and you’ll need a light foundation. Pink or red lipstick also works well with white.
