Chanel ’s new No. 5 campaign, set for release in October, presents a cinematic twist with Hollywood stars Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi as the leads. Directed by Luca Guadagnino, the short film See You at 5 follows the two actors as they navigate the anticipation of a missed rendezvous. Robbie, who has been an ambassador for Chanel since 2018, steps into the role of the face of No. 5, adding her name to a legacy of iconic women who have represented the fragrance, from Marilyn Monroe to Nicole Kidman.

Robbie expressed her excitement at joining the prestigious line of No. 5 ambassadors, noting the fragrance’s long-standing association with luxury and elegance. She has been deeply connected to Chanel over the years, but this campaign takes their relationship to a new level. “It’s amazing to be a part of something that is so legendary,” she remarked, reflecting on how her personal memories with the brand have grown since she became a Chanel ambassador.

As the characters narrowly miss meeting up, the storyline takes an unexpected turn when Robbie’s character dives into the ocean, turning a potentially disappointing moment into an exciting one. The playful tone of the ad mirrors the lightness of the No. 5 fragrance itself.

Guadagnino, known for his artistic style in films like Call Me By Your Name, worked closely with Robbie to create a balance of romance and playfulness. Robbie praised his ability to create a cinematic atmosphere that feels sensual without being heavy. “He knows how to craft a scene that feels both intimate and grand, which was perfect for the mood we wanted,” she shared.
