With the arrival of summer, it’s time to refresh our fragrance lineup with some exciting new launches and beloved seasonal favorites. We’ve tried and tested each one of these fragrances, and we’re confident they each bring something unique to the table. This season, we’re particularly intrigued by the scent notes of cumin and carrot. We anticipate these notes will become even more popular as the season progresses.
The latest offering from Michelle Pfeiffer’s line of clean fragrances, Henry Rose is Menace, composed by Yves Cassar. It’s the first masculine leaning scent from the brand. Described as an aquatic fougère, this scent boasts bright top notes of lime, tangerine and lentisque. Its middle notes are of marine accord and Mediterranean cypress, and is anchored by its base of patchouli, Virginian cedar heart and musk.

Our absolute favorites this season are the Courrèges scents: Le Fille de l’Air (left), composed by Fabrice Pellegrin, and C (right), composed by Suzy Le Helley.
Both scents are fresh and bright, perfect for Summer, and while both genderless, le fille de l’air is a bit more feminine. It features neroli at its top, orange blossom heart note, and a white musk base. This is a skin scent with a mild silage.
C, evoking the house’s prominent initial is another bright scent that captures the house’s essence. It is modern, clean, and energetic. Housed in the navy blue glossy flask, the scent has a top of clean laundry, a jasmine heart and an ambox base.

At MAISON d’ETTO, founder Brianna Lipovsky left the fashion advertising world and embarked on a sensorial journey in fragrance. In 2019 she began exploring personal and home scents with some of the world’s leading perfumers, with the impetus of evoking the familiar memory of her equine experience. The result, a lineup of six extraordinary scents and their eponymous inspiration.
Karat EG, may be our favorite this season from the brand. Composed by master perfumer Carlos Benaïm, this scent is has a top note of Fresh Earth, Turkish Rose and Carrot at its heart, with Patchouli and hints of Amber base notes.

Paula’s Ibiza by Loewe is inspired by the bohemian spirit and sun-soaked beaches of Ibiza. Composed by perfumer Núria Cruelles Borrull and Loewe’s creative director, Jonathan Anderson, this scent combines fresh and tropical notes to evoke a sense of summer. Housed in its multicolored glass bottle the scent includes a blend of coconut water, frangipani flowers, and vanilla, creating sweet, somewhat delicate aroma that feels laid back and relaxed. It’s like your own private island, distilled, and bottled.

Electric Cherry by Tom Ford is a vibrant and playful fragrance that captures the essence of juicy, ripe cherries with a lively twist. At first spray it is energetically fruity but balanced with floral jasmine sambac and a touch of spicy ginger.
At the scent’s base, ambrettolide and pink peppercorn mingle creating a soft musky undertone to the perfume’s more vibrant top notes.

We love Libertine, the composition inspired by the Maker Hotel’s Terrace Lofts. It is a wonderfully balanced citrus fragrance featuring notes of pomelo, hibiscus, cedarwood. The fluted glass bottle is both beautiful and tactile, inspired by an antique inkwell. If you visit the hotel, you can see this design influence in many of the interiors, from windows and barware to some of the lighting fixtures.

L’Air Barbès by 19-69 is a modern fragrance inspired by the vibrant and eclectic district of Barbès in Paris. At its essence it is cool, metallic, and mineral, evoking the feeling of rain-soaked concrete, fresh air, and the gritty Parisian streets. This gender neutral scent combines notes of fresh lemon, concrete, and ylang-ylang. A contemporary olfactory experience. The scent is cold, light and fresh.

Its middle notes blend cumin, jasmine, orange blossom and orris butter. The base of this scent includes vetiver, patchouli, sandalwood, musk and oak moss. In its entirety, Somewhere is a multifaceted and transporting aroma. When we close our eyes it is familiar, here and maybe there. Somewhere.

One of our favorite gourmand fragrances this summer is Nocturna by Fueguia 1833. Nocturna is a deeply alluring perfume that captures the essence of its name, the night. Editions de Parfums Frédéric Malle’s, Heaven Can Wait is an oil painting of a scent by renowned master perfumer Jean-Claude Elena. This latest offering contrasts with Jean-Claude’s previous compositions for the house, featuring assertive and spicy notes like clove, pimento, ambrette, and carrot seed. Prized iris provides a powdery floral sophistication, while vetiver builds its structure. Notes of peach and prune round out the scent, bringing it to life.

Dries Van Noten’s Neon Garden, Composed by Fanny Bal, is a unique and memorable fragrance. The heart of carrot and iris accord is juxtaposed with bright herbal top notes of mint giving the scent a lightness and sophistication but with electric energy.
