Lionel Messi, known for his skills on the soccer field, is now extending his influence into the fragrance world. Following the reveal of his collaboration with Bad Bunny on the adidas Gazelle, Messi has introduced his first-ever signature scent: Messi Eau de Parfum. This launch marks a major milestone for the Inter Miami star, reflecting his desire to build a brand that goes beyond soccer, capturing the essence of his global appeal in a bottle.

Fragrances for Men

Messi Eau de Parfum is a fragrance that brings together ingredients from all over the world, paying tribute to Messi’s international legacy. The scent was crafted to embody the athlete’s balance of strength and elegance, a reflection of his dynamic yet graceful playing style.

Designed by renowned Firmenich perfumer Frank Voelkl, who is also behind hits like Le Labo‘s Santal 33, Messi Eau de Parfum combines notes of cypress and leather, giving it a versatile, masculine appeal. “We aimed to create a fragrance that could resonate with all my fans, something that can be worn every day or for special occasions,” Messi shared.

In a strategic move, the fragrance will be exclusively available at JCPenney for the first year, with each 100-milliliter bottle retailing for $72. The decision to launch at JCPenney, a retailer known for its accessible luxury, underscores Messi’s aim to offer an affordable yet sophisticated product to his fanbase. The rollout will also feature a gift set, including a body wash and a grooming kit, perfectly timed for the holiday season.

Following in the footsteps of figures like David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo, Messi’s venture into fragrance comes at a time when authenticity is a key factor for consumers. According to Sheralven CEO Steven Koss, Messi’s fragrance line is projected to evolve into a $100 million brand, with more fragrances in the pipeline.

JCPenney has high hopes for Messi Eau de Parfum, expecting it to become one of the top-selling men’s fragrances in their stores. With in-store displays and grooming kits promoting the launch, the retailer is banking on Messi’s star power to capture the attention of both soccer fans and fragrance enthusiasts.
