The plot thickens when Rita is unexpectedly recruited by a feared drug cartel leader, played by Karla Sofía Gascón, who wants her help to secretly undergo a gender affirming surgery to become the woman she has always aspired to be. Selena Gomez portrays the cartel leader’s unsuspecting wife, adding intrigue to the storyline.
