Blake Lively, the star we know from “Gossip Girl” and “It Ends With Us,” has officially launched her haircare line, Blake Brown Beauty, now available at Target.

HAIR

While the celebrity beauty brand scene is already crowded, Lively is determined to make her mark with a unique approach focused on simplicity and authenticity.

Simplicity at Its Core

Blake Brown Beauty distinguishes itself by streamlining its product offerings to just a few essentials: shampoos and masks. Alongside these, the line includes a pre-shampoo mask, dry shampoo, leave-in conditioner, and a mousse. Notably absent is a traditional conditioner, which Lively explains is unnecessary when you can use a mask instead.

Embracing Imperfection

Lively’s approach to hair care is refreshingly unpretentious. Known for her beachy, undone hair, she embraces a look that is both polished and imperfect. “I like things that are pretty and perfect but also imperfect. I like things that have a unique personality. That’s what I like with hair — I’ll do it, but then I’ll just mess it up,” she shared for The Cut.

A Personal Touch

The journey to creating Blake Brown Beauty spanned seven years, inspired by a meme poking fun at her character Serena van der Woodsen’s effortlessly chic yet seemingly unkempt hair. Lively, a longtime fan of Kérastase products, set out to develop a line that offers high-quality, sustainable haircare at an affordable price. The products, such as the Milky Sandalwood Rich Reset Pre-Shampoo Mask and the Amber Vanille Dry Shampoo, aim to provide luxurious results without breaking the bank.

Honoring Her Roots

Choosing the name Blake Brown Beauty was a deliberate decision to honor her family heritage while distancing the brand from the typical celebrity endorsement. “Blake Brown was the name I was born with — my father’s last name. I didn’t want to use ‘Lively’ because I didn’t want people to think I was just trying to cash in on a celebrity brand. I wanted this product to stand for itself and I wanted it to earn people’s respect,” she explained.

Accessibility and Sustainability

Blake Brown Beauty’s mission extends beyond haircare to broader values of sustainability and accessibility. Lively is committed to creating products that are cleaner, affordable, and accessible while maintaining an aesthetic appeal. This approach reflects her belief in the importance of balancing beauty with responsibility, ensuring that her brand resonates with a wide audience.
